When you send a WhatsApp message to an unknown contact
This is what he sees

Notice two things here:
- The link is not in the normal clickable format
- the three buttons that show up in convenient reach of the thumb give the user an easy way to block or report your number
Why does this happen
Because WhatsApp does not allow marketing on their platform!
That’s why, if you received a message from an unknown contact this is how it looks!
The user can simply press report or block and report your number to WhatsApp for spamming them.
And… once five or more users report you in less than an hour there is a very high chance that WhatsApp will temporarily ban your number from their platform
How to avoid this?
Once you get a response from the user WhatsApp algorithm figures out that this is not blind promotion.
An actual conversation is going on.
Therefore all you have to do is get one response from the user before sending them
- Links
- Promotional message
- Or anything of that sort!
just make sure that you get a response from them even if it is just a dot (.) or a ‘hi‘
Here are two big tricks that you can use to get a response
- Just send them a ‘hi‘ most of the times people will get curious and reply
- Or you can send them a genuine question
Once you get a reply from them, this is how the screen looks on their phone

To Recap…
Unless you’re strictly messaging your known contacts who will have your number saved on their phone
Send them a question and get a response before sending them a promotion or even an informational message!
Otherwise, people will simply report your number and it will get banned from the platform
